once again proved it’s a major player in the
international
motion picture scene with two Kiwi stunt
men up for awards in the 2007
Taurus World Stunt
Awards™.
Ben Cooke, the stuntman made famous in
the crane fight scene in Casino
Royale has been
nominated in the ‘Best Fight’ and ‘Best High Work’
categories for his death-defying stunt work in the latest
Bond flick. For his role as Daniel Craig’s stunt double he
was required to jump from one 150 foot crane to another at
130 foot.

Wellingtonian Kirk Maxwell is up for ‘Best Fight’ for his work on the
massive motion
picture Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.
The 2007
Taurus World Stunt Awards™ honour and celebrate the
entertainment industry’s ‘extreme athletes’ - the
stunt professionals who consistently
push the limits to
thrill audiences throughout the world and bring action to
life on
the movie screen. The awards, which this year will be televised in 90 countries, will be hosted at the world famous Paramount Pictures on Sunday 20 May 2007.
