2007 Auckland International Boat Show a Success
The 2007 Auckland International Boat Show was once again a resounding success with over 220 exhibitors showing hundreds of imported and exported vessels and the latest in marine technology from New Zealand and around the world.
Over 21 200 people passed through the gates of the boat show over the four days, an increase from 19 500 in 2006, to peruse vessels ranging from day boats to multi-million dollar super yachts.
The event was fully subscribed with exhibitor space selling out months before the event and many exhibitors have reported direct sales from the show with up to $100 million of expected local and export sales generated from the show.
This Auckland City sponsored major event brought the city alive with hotels, restaurants fully booked during the duration of the show.
The Viaduct Harbour and the specially built marina proved to be the perfect place to showcase the country's $1.8 billion boating industry, and this year's boat show attracted an unprecedented amount of international and local media coverage.
"What is so pleasing is that this is a show owned by the marine industry for the marine industry. The 2007 Auckland International Boat Show once again entered into the spirit of good co-operation to make it not only a very important business event but a great social event on the marine calendar." Peter Busfield CEO Auckland International Boat Show.
The Auckland International Boat Show would like to thank sponsors NZ Boating, Bellingham Marine, Auckland City, Viaduct Harbour and Line 7 for their ongoing support.
