Russian Pianist Olga Bobrovnikova launched her New Zealand tour at the beginning of this month and has received nothing but praise and rave reviews.

Olga, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2000 and understandably this changed her life. Since then has dedicated her love of music and the piano to raising awareness and funds in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis all around the world.

She established the Mu-Sic Foundation, a non profit organisation which funds her performances and allows for all ticket sales to go directly to local MS charities. Olga created the concept of Mu-Sic to generate awareness of MS by using music and musicians. This, combined with the sale of the Mu-Sic lapel pins supports the work of MS Charities around the World.

Olga landed in New Zealand at the beginning of March and after a day jam packed with radio & TV interviews her and her partner Paul headed up to Whangarei for their first concert.

Over 100 people attended an afternoon recital at the beautiful Capitaine Bougainville Theatre in Whangarei. The audience were mesmerised by her performance and the passion with which Olga plays.

Olga then headed back to Auckland to play in the magnificent setting of Holy Trinity Cathedral last Thursday. Over 200 people attended this concert and we have received nothing but incredible feedback. Some of the audience were moved to tears by her performance, people commenting on how she is an inspiration to those with MS. Comments from those attending included "She was absolutely breathtaking", "It was a fantastic night out" "She was absolutely superb" and "it was the best night out I have had for a long time" "...more than a concert pianist.Oh, so very much more!"

Olga captivated the audience, playing pieces by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky and Bach and the emotion that was clearly evident in her playing couldn't fail to touch every person in the audience.

Olga is now travelling around the country playing further concerts in Blenheim, Hastings, Palmerston North and at Otago University. Encourage friends and family you may have in the above areas to get along to one of her concerts - they will not be disappointed.
