National Touch Masters Champs Results
New Zealand’s national masters touch rugby championships wrapped up yesterday with North Harbour teams taking out four of the seven masters titles.
The province won the women’s and mixed over-35 finals, along with the men’s over-40 and over 45 finals, at Auckland’s North Harbour Stadium. Bay of Plenty took out the men’s and women’s over 30 finals, and Auckland won the mixed over-30s competition.
The masters finals will be broadcast on Maori TV at 2pm next Sunday (18 March).
Touch is New Zealand’s largest team sport, with 317,000 people participating last year. Next year’s national championships will be held in Wanganui.

Men’s 30’s: Bay of Plenty 5, Counties-Manual 4; NZDF 6, North Harbour 4; Counties-Manual 5, NZDF 4; Waikato 8, Southland 2. FINAL: Bay of Plenty 5, Counties-Manukau 2.
Women’s 30’s: North Harbour 3, Bay of Plenty 2; Counties-Manukau 5, Wellington 1; Bay of Plenty 10, Counties-Manukau 2; Counties-Manukau 6, Wellington 4. FINAL: Bay of Plenty 7, North Harbour 2.
Mixed 30’s: Auckland 16, Wellington 3; Wellington 7, Canterbury 4. FINAL: Auckland 8, Wellington 5.
Women’s 35’s: North Harbour 2, Wellington 1; Canterbury 7, Auckland 2; Canterbury 4, Wellington 3; Wellington 4, Auckland 1. FINAL: North Harbour 6, Canterbury 2.
Mixed 35’s: North Harbour 11, Wellington 6; Canterbury 6, Auckland 3; Wellington 8, Canterbury 1, Wanganui 8, Auckland 7. FINAL: North Harbour 9, Wellington 3.
Men’s 40’s: North Harbour 6, Counties-Manukau 3; Auckland 5, Counties-Manukau 3. FINAL: North Harbour 11, Auckland 1.
