Songs on the Fringe gives budding singers and songwriter composers the chance to be an integral part of the 2007 Fringe Festival. During the Festival on Thursday nights the Bluenote Bar hosts singers and songwriters (18 years and older) interested in playing at an established live entertainment venue.

Regular hosts Joe Standeven and Johnny Mills are joined by special guest Emma Paki with a wide range of song genres to entertain the audience.

Local and International songwriters and singers are encouraged to drop in and perform their works at this long established Bluenote Bar weekly event – original music live and an opportunity to talk with the composers and artists

Drum kit, keyboard, microphones, bass amp all provided – just bring along your guitar and amp lead, plug in and perform.

February 15 Host Joe Standeven is a Wellingtonian who started off 8 years ago playing covers in a band called the Buzzards and then ventured into solo projects since then. Joe has been a passive music enthusiast over the past 20 years until he took to the stage himself and found ti great fun. He has helped artists starting out and regularly attended local jam nights in the Wellington region. Joe prefers soul/jazz/rock music but enjoys hosting the wide range of music that often crops up on these songs on the fringe.
