Jamming on the Edge gives musicians and vocalists the chance to be an integral part of the 2007 Fringe Festival. During the Festival on Wednesday nights the Bluenote Bar’s successful Jam music session which has been running for 9 years now, is opened up to all (18 years and older) interested in playing with a band and want the chance to do so.
Resident “Soul Circus” musician Nick Christie says “Jamming sessions at Bluenote are great nights where we all have impromptu fun and play a wide range of music. There are established musicians dropping in to join us, even professional recording artists from time to time. As well as these many local amateur musicians have started here and gone on to the professional music scene over the years so “Jamming on the Edge” hopefully provides a platform for this to continue in 2007 …. Just come long, introduce yourself and have a go.”
“Soul Circus” band members Nick Granville, Nick Christie, Des Mallon and Kaisara Mauafua have all been around the Wellington music scene for a number of years. They are only too happy to help budding musicians take the stage and perform with the group.
So come along to Jam night where numerous local and international musicians just drop in and play with the resident "Soul Circus" band. Jam whatever you want - Blues, Jazz, Funk, Reggae, Latin, Rock whatever!
If you have a yearning to play with a full group come along and if you manage a few notes on an instrument give it a go. Or if you are a budding vocalist seeking full instrument backing join it too.
Guitar, Drum kit, keyboard, microphones, bass amp all provided
So if you want to have a go the Bluenote Bar is the place to be on Wednesday nights during the Fringe Festival.
