Make your Sunday afternoon rock with four huge acts for free
Be at Three Kings Reserve when The Feelers, Evermore, Eskimo Joe and Donald Reid take the stage, Sunday 25 February 2pm – 6pm.
The Feelers are back by popular demand for their third Rock The Park Performance. Formed back in 1993, the three-piece have toured extensively internationally and within NZ, building a solid and loyal following. This is reflected by their recent win for “Most performed work in New Zealand” at the APRA silver scroll awards, an award for broadcast airplay popularity. At the 2006 NZ music awards 'Stand Up' won the Tui for “Radio Airplay Record of the year”. With ranging influences including Bowie to Pixies to Cat Stevens, the band continues to have huge success with their latest album “One World”.
Headline act Evermore have come a long way since the release of their debut album 'Dreams'. The three Hume brothers have performed at over 300 live shows, winning an MTV Award, a NZ Music Award, the APRA Silver Scroll, five ARIA nominations, and a platinum record plaque. A new journey has just begun for this talented trio with their latest album “Welcome to Real Life”.
Now, eight years on from when the young Fremantle trio leapt onto the national stage, Eskimo Joe are taking a big, bold step towards Australian music greatness with their third album, “Black Fingernails, Red Wine”. The trio raise the bar set by 2004’s double-platinum, ARIA Award-winning “A Song is a City” with a new album that soars with unashamed, unguarded personality.
Keeping it a family affair, singer/songwriter, Donald Reid will take to the stage. His first solo album “In A Taxi Home” was co-produced with his brother James Reid (The Feelers). It is a selection of songs from Reid’s repertoire of over 200 original works. Donald co-wrote two singles on the latest Feelers album “Playground Battle”.
So gather your friends and family for an afternoon of musical muscle and head to Rock the Park, part of Auckland City Council’s Music in Parks series, supported by The Rock 90.2FM, EZYBUY Car Auction and Tender Centre.
