Comic Opera Fantasy In The Heart Of Newmarket

Opera Factory presents Maurice Ravel’s captivating fantasy opera ‘l’Enfant et les Sortilèges’ (The Bewitched Child) with libretto by Colette. The opera will be fully staged, sung in English and preceded by ‘Now we are seven’ - children’s songs by Moussorgsky and Kabalevksy. The season is 15th to 24th March at Opera Factory studio theatre , 7 Eden Street Newmarket

The opera stars Sarah Wall as the naughty child with Phillip Rhodes, Derek Hill, Sarah Wood, Jessica Smith, Eveline Waters, Hannah Kim and other talented singers as inanimate objects coming to life to taunt the naughty child. ‘Now we are seven’ - a curtain raiser of nursery songs by Moussorgsky and Kabalevsky will be performed by Emma Roxburgh and other singers. With musical director Rosemary Barnes, choreographer Linda Kitchen, designs by John Eaglen (stage), Cathy Pope (costumes) and Phillip Dexter (Lighting), this fringe opera season will musically and visually enchant all ages.

The Opera Factory fringe theatre is at 7 Eden Street Newmarket - around the corner from Two Double Seven Broadway and a short stroll from the Link bus and railway station. Parking is available in adjacent streets or public car parks.For further information please contact:
