Welcome to the brave new world of "Octophonic" sound with musical adventurers Spartacus R and a team of international multimedia artists.
Engineering legend Dr Lee Prebble of the Surgery fame has designed a new type of "Octophonic" sound system that is a New Zealand and possibly a world fi rst. Most sound systems are presented in adequate stereophonic sound, through two channels.Dr Lee will guide the Spartacus R sound through an unprecedented eight channels creating the "Octophonic" experience.
Through this revolutionary sound system, Wellington 6 piece Spartacus R will explore the relationship between sound and emotional states, taking their audience on a journey through an octahedral aural and visual landscape. The "Octophonic" experience will be enhanced by a multimedia feast of with duo-camera live action projection.
"Spartacus R have put together a world class team (with internationally renowned producer Lee Prebble) to produce an octophonic show that will provide an aural and visual feast sure to be a highlight of the Fringe Festival. Having played regularly in Wellington and recently returned from a North Island tour, Spartacus R's music has matured significantly over recent months and will be integral to a fantastic night of sounds and images"
