FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE…………..

Back in Welly after a great break? Let the glorious colours and vision of Vincent Duncan refresh your memory of why Wellington really is a beautiful place to live.

This show is your chance to own work by a painter who regularly shows us the beauty and joy in our beloved Wellington. Move over the Riviera, Duncan shows the capital in bright, bold and juicy paint strokes to reveal a lusty city of lovers and gusts of wind which power sailboats across our harbour. A prolific and accomplished painter, Duncan depicts scenes from all over the city, from majestic views of Roseneath to the precarious balance of houses which teeter on gravity defying slopes while the cable car wends its merry way up to the Botanic gardens.

An artist who takes a joyous interest in paint, his studio tables are laden with tubes of oils, most of which have been squeezed, painted and laden onto canvases which show us the environs we live in. Duncan’s work captures the best of living in the capital. He shows us the light glistening on the harbour, romantic scenes of couples on Oriental Bay enjoying the view while skaters and walkers power past. Duncan states that he wants to paint ‘happy things’, and he succeeds. Even the Wellington wind is shown in its’ full glory, powering majestic sailboats across the harbour, filling huge blue canvases with sky and sea.

Duncan paints a city which we know and love, and renders everyday scenes in beautiful colours which remind us why we love living here. An accomplished painter, Duncan has been painting full time for over ten years, and his works are well known and loved in Wellington, collected nationally and internationally.
