National Gliding Champs
New Zealand National Gliding Championships are currently taking place at Omarama and will continue to through to Saturday. 45 entrants are competing including competitors from Germany, France, Australia and Japan. Kiwi World Grand prix champion Ben Flewett is favourite to take the open class title. A highlight of the event is the Tasman trophy between Australia and New Zealand with kiwi Nigel Davey facing off against Kerrie Claffey of Australia in an air ‘battle of the sexes.’
