Christmas Comes Early For Lotto Winners

Tauranga, Wanganui & Otaki Players Celebrate Christmas a Month Early with $333,333 Lotto First Division Wins

Santa's sleigh-bells are ringing a month early for three Lotto players who bought their tickets in Tauranga, Wanganui & Otaki after they won $333,333 each on Lotto First Division tonight, NZ Lotteries Chief Executive Todd McLeay said.

The winning tickets were sold at John's Lotto in Tauranga, Trafalgar Lotto in Wanganui and Otaki Post Shop

"What a fantastic time of the year to pick up a $333,333 Lotto First Division win, Christmas will be celebrated with all the trimmings for these lucky winners, and the celebrations will last a whole month," says Mr McLeay.

Lotto Powerball has jackpotted tonight to an estimated $2.5 million in next week's draw. Strike also jackpotted and is worth and estimated $200,000 next Saturday.

Tonight's other big winner was Alex Hoggan from Christchurch, who spun and won $275,000 live on Lotto's Winning Wheel. Mr Hoggan enjoyed a luxury weekend in Wellington, staying at the Duxton Hotel with his wife Shirley, a shopping trip with a stylist for an outfit to wear on the show, and lunch with Lotto presenter Kyllee King-Turner, leading up to his $275,000 winning spin.

All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto's Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy. Players can check their ticket at any lottery outlet.

Tonight's Winning Wheel ticket was sold by Royal Heights Dairy & Lotto in Auckland. The serial number is 453-08473890-20XX.
