Mohamed Azzaoui NZ Cruiserweight Champion, Pan Asian Boxing Association and Pan African Boxing Association Title Holder will be sparring with American heavyweight boxer Ed Mahone at 11.00am Friday at the Auckland Boxing Association in central Auckland. Ed Mahone has been sparring with heavyweight Shane Cameron, and Azzaoui's management have secured his services to continue his build up to a possible world title fight next year.
Azzaoui has also been working with a new, Australian trainer to vary his training routines.
Next week Azzaoui will move to Waiheke and spend the week training in David Nanai's gym.
Azzaoui is currently ranked number 5 in the WBA cruiserweight world rankings. A fight against the Pan South American champion was planned for later this year, but Azzaoui's management have been in discussions with the WBA and WBC world cruiserweight champions. A title fight could take place as early as March next year. Azzaoui's management are working hard to secure the boxer at least one fight before any title fight to ensure he is in the best possible shape for a title fight.
