New Festival Web Site Launched

New Festival Web Site Launched

The new web site for the 2007 Festival of Colour was launched this week as work continues on finalising the programme for the second festival in Wanaka from 24-29 April.

While the programme is a closely guarded secret until the launch on 8 February, the festival will feature a diverse range of impressive national and international acts guaranteed to attract arts lovers from throughout New Zealand and further afield to the autumnal shores of Lake Wanaka. As well as ticketed events in music, theatre and dance, the festival will include a number of free events and exhibitions.

"The Festival of Colour is all about bringing the arts to everyone," said festival director, Philip Tremewan. "As with the inaugural festival, 2007 will feature a wide-ranging performance programme including a strong community programme plus we're working with the local schools to produce a Schoolfest for students. The ticketed programme is extremely exciting and we've got some real treats lined up for audiences – all will be revealed in February!"

The inaugural Festival of Colour in 2005 was a sell out and received both national and international acclaim and Mr Tremewan urged festival-goers to book early.

"Keep an eye on the web site, use it to join up as a patron, book tickets or find accommodation and make sure you don't miss out," he said.

The Festival of Colour web site is at www.festivalofcolour.co.nz.
