FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Kiwi PC is conducting a national social experiment in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
In the wake of the “Free Hugs” phenomenon, the real life controversial story of Juan Mann, Edward Swift, producer and front-man of The Kiwi PC, has set out to discover which New Zealand city is the friendliest by offering hugs to the public.
“Our first weekend went quite well,” says Mr. Swift, after returning from conducting the experiment in Wellington. “We actually got more hugs than we expected!”
The idea was born after watching the “Free Hugs” video on Youtube, and realising that this had not been done in New Zealand, Mr. Swift proceeded to discuss the idea with a video crew.
“It seemed like a weird idea at first, but it grew on me, and it sounded like it could be fun.”
Mr. Swift has already conducted the experiment in Wellington, and will be in Auckland and Christchurch in the coming weeks to “hug the nation”.
Progress can be found by searching “kiwipc” in channels on http://www.youtube.com/, and through the official website, http://kiwipc.blogspot.com/.
The
Kiwi PC is an independent New Zealand podcast run by New
Zealand teenagers for over a
year.
