Letter to the Children of NZ from Santa

13 November 2006

Media release

Letter to the Children of New Zealand (and around the world)

Dear Kiwi Kids,

Christmas starts early for us here at the North Pole. Mrs Claus, the elves the reindeer and I have been very busy getting ready for the Christmas rush. My Christmas sleigh has been painted a bright shiny red so children can see us as we fly across the night sky, the elves have been in my workshop getting all the presents made ready for delivery on Christmas Eve and the reindeer are in training for their big night out.

As you can see our motto for this Christmas is ‘be prepared,’ and this is where you can help. The earlier you get your letter to us here at the North Pole the more chance you have of getting your reply on time, and of course the present you asked for.

So please children, try and get your letters sent by December 15 to:

Mr Santa Claus
Santa’s Workshop
North Pole

Mrs Claus has just popped over and asked me to remind you to include a return address on your letter (with the correct postcode – ask parents for help here) so we can get our reply to you as quickly as possible.

There is also a Santa website www.nzpost.co.nz/santa where you can countdown how many sleeps you have left until the big night!

So children, I hope you’ve been good, and if you have been a bit naughty during the year make it up by being nice to your parents now. And get those letters in straight away.

Merry Christmas,

Santa and team
