Backpacking Bros Take On The World

Take two Maori bros from small-town Aotearoa, sort them out with backpacks and air tickets, and then send them on a super-fast OE in Europe and the States to hunt out other Kiwis.

The result is BRO-TOUR.COM, a travel show with mischief, mayhem and Maori humour as the boys take on the world – bro-style!

All the exploits of Mike Jonathan and Bodie Tihoi Taylor on their 28-day whirlwind tour are captured by cameraman Kodie Roberts as they catch up with footie players in Amsterdam, check out the beaches and nightclubs of Ibiza, get a rousing Maori welcome in London, and party with beautiful bunnies at the Playboy mansion.

The guys also get travel tips and stories from New Zealand celebrities, including Stacey Daniels, Scotty Morrison, Awen and Natasyha Guttenbeil, and Rena Owen.

At the Playboy Mansion, Mike and Bodie got up close and personal with former Playmate of the Year, Baywatch babe and ex-Heff girlfriend Brande Roderick.

“Brande’s one wahine ataahua!” says Mike (Tainui, Te Arawa, Ngati Awa), from Taumarunui. “Yup, the party at the Playboy Mansion was one of the highlights, for sure. We also got to meet some amazing Kiwis who are proving that we’re not afraid to give it a go, no matter where we are in the world.”

Bodie and Mike did a haka for the Playboy bunnies, impressing one of them so much, she asked for a replay.

For Bodie, the highlight of the trip was meeting his partner Te Aroha in London. She was part of the welcoming group doing a powhiri for the BRO-TOUR.COM guys at New Zealand House.

Bodie and Te Aroha kept in touch, met up again back in New Zealand and now live in Bodie’s hometown of Karapiro, near Cambridge.

“It was an awesome trip and definitely not one I’ll forget, especially the stop in London because it meant I met Te Aroha, my amazing girl,” says Bodie (Tainui, Hauraki Whanui). “The toughest moment for me was saying goodbye to the brothers at the end of the tour.”

The bros also got contact details from the all the Kiwis they met overseas and will put them on the show’s website www.bro-tour.com for friends and whanau to get in touch.
