"HANDS ON"
Artist and Political Activist Rusty Kane has just completed "Hands On" One or many of these hands will be famous Contemporary Exhibit on the wall at the Puki Ariki library foyer. With the exhibit will be a comments book for the public to comment on what they think of the contemporary exhibit. Is it worthy of being in any contemporary gallery in the country, or is it just rubbish, Can you read the work, .. what the artist is saying... Clue being".... It is about what one generation thinks of another",....and how much do you think it is worth.
Prominent Artist Micheal Smither has started of the comments by saying " Political comment in art is the most dangerous and the least effective form of art". Rusty Kane disagrees " Saying what about Colin McCahon " but appreciates the comment. Later on in the exhibit Rusty will say what the five dispensers and towels represent to see how close the comments are, and to see how the comments change once the public know what the exhibits social meaning is.
From this point Don Driver will start the comments off, and the exhibit will be put up for public auction to the highest bidder, and the proceeds will go to plunket.
