The producers of the forthcoming “A Knight With A Dame” tour of New Zealand starring Dame Malvina Major and Sir Howard Morrison, have today announced a change to the lineup of one of the show’s feature acts, The (2006) Howard Morrison Quartet. Sir Howard’s nephew Temuera Morrison has received overseas movie offers since the tour was planned, and has been forced to withdraw.
But all is well! Toni Williams has stepped up to the plate. Now living in Christchurch and a national identity since the 60’s, Williams has enjoyed success as a fine performer in his own right. He has also sung many times with various versions of the quartet.
Toni will join with the other members of the 2006 Quartet – Sir Howard, his son Howard Junior, and the inimitable Gerry Merito – for rehearsals next week. The 19–concert tour is already sold out in 7 cities, and opens in Blenheim on Monday October 29th.
