charmaine reveley
Lurking from the depths of the forbidden forest, Dunedin designer Charmaine Reveley’s rich and sumptuous winter 2007
range ‘HUNTER GATHERER’ debuts today at Air New Zealand Fashion Week.
Wild at heart, this range reflects on an old world beauty and charm. Reveley’s clever combination of finishing and
flattering cuts give her garments a fresh wearability to take us into the chill of the winter months.
Prints and embroidery remain a strong element of the collection. Wild camellias creep over strong dresses and tops in
merino and cotton. The glossy layers of foliage that make up Reveley’s ‘camouflage’ print show up on metal-threaded
skirts, merino dresses and tops. A horn print tee adds a quirky mood to the collection and embroidered wild camellia
flowers highlight a stunning silk-velvet cocktail dress, merino jacket and paneled skirt.
Silk velvet is paneled, printed and gathered into dresses and skirts. Fine merino knits are reversible and with delicate
patterning, are a must have for all winter wardrobes. Reveley’s signature ‘Crossroad Pant’ in self-stripe tweed has a
paneled front and button closure, making this well cut pant highly covetable.
Cool tones of midnight blues and smoky grey are entangled with Nut browns and a fiery Robin-red. Shots of dusky pink and
winter white round out this season’s immensely wearable colour palette.
Charmaine Reveley’s integrity and intelligence in design is shown with delicate detailing, beautiful finishing and an
old world beauty. The designs have a real artistic quality to them, which has come from Charmaine’s background and
passion for art.
In its eighth season, the charmaine reveley brand has become a celebration of the country’s talent, culture and natural
beauty. Pieces have a true sense of New Zealand origin and collections are frequently centered on New Zealand themes.
“Hunter Gatherer” will be available in stores late February. charmaine reveley is stocked in 10 stores Nationwide.
