Pip Brown Comes Back.

Pip Brown Comes Back.

Teenager, Charlie ASH, DJ Ladyhawke, DJ Sift, DJ Tanner and The Actualities. Bar Bodega August the 25th $10

If you've lived in Wellington for a few years you will remember the garage rock explosion, Two Lane Black Top and the sexiest guitarist New Zealand has ever produced. After international touring and a big buck publishing deal, TLBT split up and Pip Brown traded us for Sydney, where she has been head down tail up working on her two acts Teenager and Ladyhawke.

Teenager is the collaborative project between Sydney's Nick Littlemore (founding member of PNAU!) and Pip. Teenager also boasts bassist Dean Cameron (ex degrees k) and drummer Oscar Wuts (ex degrees K and Letterbox Lambs). Together they create an infused mix of rock-punk-electro-trash, a smorgasboard of catchy beats, samples, sexually explosive vocals and loud infectious guitars.

Teenager has already collaborated with Sonic Youth's Lee Ronaldo and Steve Shelley, YeahYeahYeah's guitarist Nick Zinner, and Birthday Party legend Roland.S.Howard.

While we're gushing, Pips Solo Project Ladyhawke has left those of us lucky enough to receive the demo well impressed. 'Back Door Man' and 'Back Of the Van' have serious pop sensibilities.

Support Acts include Charlie ASH fresh from a wee break (they recently wowed a FOX MUSIC rep, who said they were more exciting than the Yeah Yeah Yeahs) …Newbys The Actualities and DJ Sift (of Electroluxxe fame) who is quite easily Wellingtons most awesome Dj.
