Artstation is introducing a new professional development workshop

Artstation is offering a new professional development course ‘Making your art your work with Arts.Biz©’. The course, which equips artists and others working in the creative sector with the necessary business tools to set up and manage their own business, will run on 17 and 18 June.

The course aims to encourage artists establish, build and maintain a successful business.
The presenters, Lynn Thompson, Suzette Major and Anne Connell, are founders of Arts.Biz©, a company which specialises in enterprise training for creative people. They are active participants in the creative sector themselves and recognise that the business of being an artist is unique.

The two-day course will take participants through three main areas: marketing, finance and career development. It will touch on key business areas such as tax, costing and pricing, and will translate jargon into common sense.

Places are limited, so call Artstation for more information.

Artstation, Auckland City’s community visual arts facility, is located at the old police barracks at 1 Ponsonby Rd, Newton. It is easy to get to by public transport with the Link’s ‘Artstation’ bus stop right outside.
