‘Sprayed and
Wrapped’
Winter fashion has hotted up this year with
the Spiewak ‘Sprayed and wrapped’ charity auction.
Ten artists from around the country have used different styles to customise Spiewak jackets. The jackets express the work of the Auckland City Mission and how people and society are affected by marginalisation. The artists drew inspiration for the jackets from the services and work of the Auckland City Mission in the greater Auckland area.
Auckland artist Gene Kirkpatrick summed up his ‘Lost Souls’ Jacket art as: “This work represents a journey of personal self discovery to find one’s sense of belonging. As ‘Lost Souls’, we are forever trying to find our identity, origins, what we represent, and where we fit into society. For many’ life’s journey represents survival”
Other artist include:
Sheyne Tuffery - Christchurch
Mephisto Jones
- Wellington
Peter Kelk - Wellington
PO-MO -

Dust – Christchurch
Sam Robertson – Dunedin

After touring Wellington, Christchurch and
Auckland the jackets will be auctioned at an evening event
with proceeds of the sale going to the Auckland City
Mission. Jackets can be seen at
(Please see below for
Venue Information) or www.aucklandcitymission.org.nz
“They will be sought after as collector’s items in the future. The artists’ work expresses the cold hard winter that many Auckland families experience. It is great to show people what we do through the work of such talented artists,” said Diane Robertson, Auckland City Missioner.
The auction will take place on Thursday June 29 at 7pm in Auckland. For tickets to the auction contact the Auckland City Mission on 09 303 9265 or info@acm.co.nz. Phone bidding will be available.
