Screen Council Funding Confirmed
The government’s decision to allocate an additional $250,000 to the Screen Council for the 2006/07 financial year has
been welcomed by the Council’s Chair Graeme Wilson.
“To date the Screen Council’s key initiatives have focused on recoupment, tax, executive business training, improved
high-speed broadband access for the sector, and the implementation of a Qualmark-type certification scheme ScreenMark
for tertiary education” said Mr Wilson.
“It is a comprehensive and demanding programme, tackling the tough issues that will deliver the means for long-term
sustainable growth to this dynamic industry”
“The Screen Council is heartened to see the work it is undertaking in the screen production sector is recognized and
welcomes the challenge to continue working on these issues”.
“We’re also very pleased to announce at this time that Rick Ellis (CEO of TVNZ) will be joining the Screen Council board
in June. “We are sure he will contribute significantly to the strategic vision of the organization.”
