ROAR! gallery launches new Public Programme

ROAR! gallery 55 Abel Smith St, Above Real Groovy, Wellington
Wed 11-5, Thurs 11-6, Fri 11-5, Sat 11-5

It’s time to go public. It’s true; there is fantastic art at ROAR! gallery, exciting and fun filled openings, great art, but now there is even more! With our ‘Community’group show on 18th May, we are launching our programme of workshops, free talks and interactive art excitement. We want to encourage people to come in and see art, talk about it, and get the chance to make some too.

The programme includes talks by Outsider art expert Stuart Sheppard, pearls of wisdom from the horses mouth with our free artist talks on Friday lunch times, and free or $5 workshops; Kiran_X invites you to a free art session, creating a space in the gallery for all to draw, scrawl, stencil or spray on the walls provided. BOMB OUR SPACE! Ann and Poppy Moore invite you to come ‘Knit Witting’ with them, using knitting as a material to create collaged wonders from pom poms, baubles and worms of wool. Collect your bits and pieces and glittery shiny things together for Sian Torrington’s broach making workshop, how to create glorious things to wear in but an afternoon.

We also invite you to attend some of our newly jazzed up openings, now with live music, free art, cakes, cups of tea in real china tea cups, and of course the usual good things to eat and drink and fabulous art.
