Georgie Fame Live In Wellington April 25

ANOTHER UK MUSIC LEGEND HEADING FOR WELLINGTON-GEORGIE FAME IS PLAYING LIVE IN WELLINGTON ON TUESDAY 25 APRIL – ANZAC DAY AND A STONES CONNECTION.

Yes, Georgie Fame from the UK is on tour in Australasia and Expressions Expressions Arts and Entertainment Centre in Upper Hutt have secured his only Wellington concert. In association with the Montana Christchurch Jazz Festival he will perform at the Genesis Energy Theatre in Upper Hutt at 8pm on Tuesday 25 April. His well known hits included “Yeah Yeah”, “Getaway”, and “Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde”.

He has just appeared with Bill Wyman(ex The Stones ) in the Rhythm Kings at London's Royal Albert Hall.

His style of singing and keyboards have seen him move through the pop limelight and into jazz and American R & B.

After performing as Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames he joined former Animal pianist Alan Price in a very successful duo appearing on BBC TV.

In recent years he has also played with Van Morrison, Eric Clapton,and Joan Armatrrading.

He has been a regular performer at Ronnie Scott's Club in London .

He is joined by top New Zealand musicians Brian Smith - sax, Billy Kristian – Guitar and Tony Hopkins – drums. The Genesis Energy Theatre will provide an intimate atmosphere for the audience of 200 to enjoy a rare opportunity of great music from an international artist.
