Auckland, 3 April 2006: 19 finalists from around the country have been selected by a team of international judges for this year’s Schwarzkopf Professional New Zealand Hairdressing Awards.
The Hairdressing industry combines the creative pulse of fashion with a passion for hair. Since 1988, the Schwarkopf Professional New Zealand Hairdressing Awards has celebrated this unique pulse, providing the most credible and prestigious platform from which to view creative achievement and visionary hair fashion.
Kat Laing, Schwarzkopf Professional National Technical Manager, personally delivered a generous number of outstanding photographic entries to the Germany-based judging team who spent hours last week choosing the finalists.
One of the judges is Tyler Johnston, an international session and catwalk stylist, working the international fashion weeks of London, New York, Paris and Milan. Tyler also supports a portfolio of high-profile personal clients who include David and Victoria Beckham, Cate Blanchett, Chrissie Hynde, Courtney Love, Helena Christiansen, Natalie Imbruglia, Oasis and All Saints.
The other judges include global image director for Schwarzkopf Professional and former creative director of Vidal Sassoon London, Simon Ellis and the global technical director for Schwarzkopf Professional, Steve Hogan.
Kim Conner, Schwarzkopf Professional General Manager says the quality of work from this year’s finalists was exceptionally high and demonstrates innovation and progressive styling. Conner says there has been a high level of anticipation among hairdressers for these latest results because of the involvement of such a heavyweight judging team.
“Our finalists are thrilled that such an elite team of judges have not only seen their work, but have selected them out of hundreds of anonymous entries,” says Conner.
