This Thursday on Coast - It's a Sione's Wedding Special!

This week's episode of COAST is set to be *HUGE* as our hosts Brent Mio and Kara Rickard check out the cinematic phenomenon that is SIONE'S WEDDING.

By now surely everyone has heard about this film, the feel-good local comedy about four 30-something Grey Lynn guys who must each find a girlfriend (a proper girlfriend!) or risk not being able to attend their mate Sione's wedding.

The movie was written by James Griffin, and co-written by Oscar Kightley, who also plays the character of Albert. It was directed by Chris Graham (who was behind Dei Hamo's award-winning video 'We Gon' Ride' amongst other great clips) and features the Naked Samoans, Teuila from C4, Madeleine Sami and even ex-Coast presenters Shavaughn, Sheeq - and if you look real hard into the background of the club scenes - Taaz!

To celebrate the release of this very funny movie, as well as the soundtrack to the film (proudly brought to you by Dawn Raid), COAST is devoting our entire show on April 6th to SIONE'S WEDDING. Adeaze will be performing live (they do the romantic track of the movie), we catch up with Flowz (who features on the hit single 'I Do Believe' with Tha Feelstyle, Lapi Mariner, Mareko and Manuel Bundy) while he shows us round his hometown of Wellington, and we'll have special guests Oscar Kightley, Iaheto Ah Hi (Stanley), Chris Graham and everybody's favourite wigga, Derek a.k.a D-Wizzle (real name, David Van Horn) in the studio - as well as tickets and CDs to giveaway!

Continuing to celebrate the Polynesian theme, we also have live in the COAST whare Smokefree Pasifika Beats winners SPASIFIX, a 9-piece band who have just auditioned for Motown. Yes, Motown.

COAST is now pre-recorded on a Wednesday night. The studio still has an open-door policy, so if anyone wants to come down and see the show being recorded, whilst getting up close with all the musos, guests and our choice hosts, head on down anytime after 8.30pm on a Wednesday evening to the state-of-the-art MTS studios at 9-15 Davis Cres, Newmarket and see it all unfold.

And if you can't make it down on a Wednesday (or you did come down and now you want to check yourself out on the TV), be watching Maori Television at the new time of 9.30pm on Thursday nights.
