The Time Of Your Life Is Only Two Weeks Away!
Auckland gears up for the opening night of the highly anticipated NZ premiere of Dirty Dancing the Classic Story on Stage, at the Civic Theatre on the 30th of March. Following rave reviews and sell out seasons in Australia, NZ is the first stop in a major world tour that is shaping up to see this spectacular production become one of the biggest and most popular stage shows ever!
The NZ premiere season is delighted to confirm a PRESS CALL presenting the full show finale ('Time Of My Life'), on Thursday, March 30 at 12 noon at the Civic Theatre.
The Cast will be available for interviews/photographs after the presentation. Opening in Hamburg on March 26, Dirty Dancing has already created a major impact in Europe, breaking box office records in Germany for advance bookings of a musical. Dirty Dancing opens on London's West End in October 2006 and in North America in 2007.
Re-written especially for the stage by original script writer and co-producer of the phenomenally successful movie, Eleanor Bergstein; Dirty Dancing the Classic Story on Stage includes all of the magical moments from the 1987 iconic film, tantalizing dance sequences and the hits from the unforgettable soundtrack that made the film an all time classic such as ŒHungry Eyes and the Academy Award winning ŒTime Of My Life'.
Josef Brown, ex-lead dancer of the Sydney Dance Company, fills the shoes of Patrick Swayze as bad boy dance instructor Johnny Castle and Kym Valentine, best known as Libby on Neighbours, replaces Jennifer Grey as ŒBaby'.
