International Documentary Film Competition
Docnz 2006: New Zealand’s Very Own International Documentary Film Competition
Following the success of the inaugural international documentary film festival last year, DOCNZ Festival Trust is excited to announce details for DOCNZ 2006. Australasia’s premier international documentary film festival will be held in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin from 7 September – 22 October 2006.
“We are excited to announce DOCNZ 2006 which follows the huge success of last year’s inaugural festival. This year we are introducing The Best International Feature Documentary Award, the first international film award in New Zealand marking New Zealand’s entry into the international competitive film festival circuit” says Dan Shanan, Festival Director
In addition to the international competition, DOCNZ 2006 will continue with its national competition for the best New Zealand short, medium and feature length documentaries. In line with the new competition guidelines, New Zealand premieres are sought for the competitions.
Submissions are now open and the deadline for all entries is 31 May 2006 (details are available on www.docnzfestival.com).
A further development is that DOCNZ 2006 will join forces with the bi-annual national documentary conference held in Wellington 22—24 October which will feature workshops, talks, master classes and screenings for documentary film-makers.
