Tickets Still Available For Iconic Festival
Tickets for the Devonport Food and Wine Festival are still on sale from Ticketmaster and will be available from the gate
this Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 February for just $25. With 2006 being the first year that Festival organizers have
limited tickets to 12,000, pre-purchased tickets have been popular like never before but gate sales will still be
available.
Kathy Cunningham, Event Management Director, says "With so much excitement surrounding this year's event we want to
ensure people are well aware that the Festival will be selling tickets at the gate as it does every year."
Weather forecasts for this weekend look promising with sunny weather predicted by Metservice for both Saturday and
Sunday. So get all your friends together, grab a picnic blanket, hat and sunscreen and come and indulge in the food,
wine and entertainment at the stunning Windsor Reserve, Devonport Village.
All the money raised from the Festival in 2006 as in every year will go to charity and community events.
The two main beneficiaries of the Festival are The First Tee, an organization dedicated to helping kids to learn life
lessons in a fun and positive way by using the game of golf as a learning tool and The Michael King Writers' House,
situated on Mount Victoria, Devonport, the first facility of its kind in New Zealand, supporting creative New Zealand
writers. The remainder of the 2006 proceeds will be distributed after the Festival to those who submit an application to
the Devonport Rotary Club.
Gates open at 11am both Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $25 and are available from Ticketmaster (0800 111 999 or
www.ticketmaster.co.nz ) or from your local Post Shop. If you pre-purchase your ticket you will receive one free glass. Tickets will be
available, from the gate, on the day for $25 but do not include a free glass of wine.
