Challen Wilson, a fresh aspiring Maori playwright, has travelled from living in a delusional materialistic world of escapism to deliver & bring alive her passionate script based on the awakening of ones true soul. TE TAPA TORU is Challen’s first ever work to be performed and it comes at no surprise that BATS are more than happy to host it for FRINGE 06.
A handful of actors, 2 projectors, Karetao inspired human puppetry, a dance choreographer and a bunch of behind the scene movers and shakers make this show, TE TAPA TORU, more than just an on-stage production. It’s a living, breathing, awe-inspiring work of deeply-felt art that all New Zealanders need to experience for the better of our nation.
TE TAPA TORU stabs a dagger into today’s whitewashed sense of reality; it releases the blood of unity and love to gush fearlessly amongst audiences young and old.
