Domino’s Pizza is partnering with V8 Supercar champion Craig Lowndes and the Triple 8 Race Engineering run Team Betta Electrical V8 Supercars in a bid to ensure Domino’s Pizza delivery drivers have the edge.
As part of the sponsorship deal Lowndes will help Domino’s Pizza recruit more than 2,000 new delivery drivers across Australia and New Zealand. He will also assist in developing the company’s safe driving program for delivery drivers.
Lowndes will be in New Zealand in April donning a Domino’s cap and delivering pizzas.
Domino’s Pizza CEO Don Meij said the sponsorship deal was part of the pizza maker’s growth strategy following its oversubscribed public listing on the Australian Stock Exchange in 2005.
“Craig Lowndes and his Triple 8 Race Engineering team share the same hunger for victory as Domino’s Pizza. As we continue to grow, our stores need more delivery staff and this is one area in which we believe Craig Lowndes and his team can help.”
Lowndes said he was looking forward to working closely with the Domino’s Pizza team in 2006.
”Domino’s is a leader in its field just like we are in ours. We share similar values and I am really looking forward to working on their safe driving program for delivery drivers – it’s a great initiative.”
Domino’s Pizza Australia New Zealand Ltd and its franchisees have 416 stores across Australia and New Zealand, employing more than 11,000 part-time and full-time staff and make more than 40 million pizzas each year.
Domino’s Pizza (DMP) is Australia’s first publicly-listed pizza chain, making its debut on the Australian Stock Exchange in May 2005.
