Capture Auckland’s Diversity By Lantern Light
The Auckland Festival of Photography proudly presents LANTERN, a new addition to TAKING PART in this year's expanded festival programme. LANTERN invites all Aucklanders to capture the vibrant culture of the AsiaNZ Chinese Lantern Festival in Auckland.
LANTERN is an opportunity for all photographers; established, emerging, youth and novice to take a photograph of the many elements that come together to create this great spectacle of light and colour in Albert Park from February 10th to 12th. The AsiaNZ Chinese Lantern Festival attracts over 100,000 people over three days, whose diversity and spirit make great subjects for photographic images.
The AsiaNZ Chinese Lantern Festival lights up the Auckland City skyline, with a warm glow from hundreds of lanterns. The selected exhibition photos of LANTERN will immortalize the people's view of the Lantern Festival, show its development over time, and highlight how public spaces can be filled in a public-spirited celebration of Asian culture in the City.
The LANTERN exhibition will be held at The
Aotea Centre during the Photography Festival
in June
2006.
Submissions for LANTERN close on February 26 and
can be sent to
"Lantern" 2006, Auckland Festival of
Photography, PO Box 147-095, Ponsonby, Auckland
or via
the website: photographyfestival.org.nz
First ten

The
Auckland Festival of Photography is a highlight of the
