OdESSA Win Live and Local
Wellington 4 piece, OdESSA, have taken out the Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 Live and Local competition at Amplifier.co.nz to win the opening slot at the 2006 Big Day Out. In addition to the gig OdESSA will receive a day’s recording at Auckland’s York Street Studios.
The competition was open to public vote for 39 days and saw over 25,000 votes cast. OdESSA won by a narrow margin from Auckland bands, Battle Circus and Tahuna Breaks.
OdESSA front man, Mathew Pender said, “We’re absolutely thrilled to win the Live and Local competition and would like to thank everyone who voted for us. Playing at the Big Day Out and sharing the bill with acts like Iggy and the Stooges and the White Stripes is a dream come true.”
For a limited time the top 7 bands in the Live and Local competition have made their nominated competition tracks available for free download from Amplifier.co.nz.
