Dunedin: Two New Year's Music Events Announced

The team at dunedinmusic.com is pleased as punch to announce the hosting of two new year’s musical events in Dunedin.

On Dec 31st 2005 dunedinmusic.com presents:

“Our New Years Eve Gig.”

Venue: The Crown Hotel – R18.

Date/Time: Dec 31st from 7.30pm

Prices Public $8, R1 Cardholders: $5

Featuring some of Dunedin’s freshest musical talent:

Gestalt Switch, The Dark Beaks, The Riff Rats, The Local Hoons, Helter Skelter and Injection of Death.

This line up represents today’s Dunedin Sound.

Headliners Gestalt Switch will be celebrating their recent successes:

-Receipt of a $5000 grant to make a video here in Dunedin.

-Invitation to play at the 2006 Big Day Out.

-Invitation to play at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival being held in Austin Texas in March 2006.

“Dunedin Unplugged New Year's Day”

Venue: Dunedin Botanic Gardens

Date/Time: Jan 1st from 2pm

Beautiful music from 2-6pm in the bandstand at the Dunedin Botanic Garden.

Featuring Anji Sami, Sunley, Plagiarhythm, Alex Vaastra and Ed Lonsdale, Philtre, Mike McLeod and Onanon.

Jazz, solo guitar, klezmer and a little bit of indie songcraft combine for this family-oriented afternoon of acoustic music. Bring a picnic, a blanket and enjoy.
