Radio Active One Love 2006 Dub Idol Wellington Band Competition
Each year Wellingtonians make their way to the Hataitai Veledrome on Waitangi Day for a celebration of cultural unity, love and summer, accompanied by the finest live Dub, Roots and Reggae Music.
Radio Active’s One Love festival has been nurturing bands for seven years now, helping to break the likes of Trinity Roots and Fat Freddy’s Drop.
This year, Radio Active is running a competition for a budding Wellington band to play, (and get paid), to a crowd of over fifteen thousand.
The winning entrants will play alongside New Zealand’s Cornerstone Roots, The Black Seeds and Sounds Almighty featuring The Mighty Asterix within the lush greenery of the Town Belt overlooking Hataitai on February 6th.
Entries to One Love Dub Idol close on Friday 16th December. Entrants must have live experience and should send their CD with a brief bio to Radio Active One Love Dub Idol, 175 Victoria St, Level 6 or PO Box 11-971, Wellington.
