WELLINGTON, SWEDEN AND NELSON WINNERS AT FIVES FILM AWARDS
A fantasy story about a lonely sculptor who creates life from stone made into a short film called Auto-ma-ton has won
this year’s International Flying Fives Film Awards.
Produced by Wellington based filmmaker Jason Howden, Auto-ma-ton took the top award from first runner-up “Dreams of
Life” produced by Swedish filmmaker David Kvart and second runner-up “A Perfect Circle” produced by Nelson filmmaker
Rhyce Barker.
“The final judging panel of International Sundance Film Festival Judge, Joe Bini and New Zealand filmmakers Barry
Barclay and Keith Hawke believe the Fives are a good format to expose the development of new ideas,” said John Bullock.
“The Fives Fifteen for 2005 will be shown on Sky Television as part of an exclusive promotion and screening arrangement
with the Rialto Channel in early 2006.”
The Fives Fifteen for 2005 are:
