Radio One's high school demo competition

Radio One's high school demo competition

Youth, eh! They are the future…the future of New Zealand music! And Radio One wants to nurture the talent, and generally contribute to the awesomeness that is the future of music in our fine land!

This is why Radio One is holding our inaugural high school demo competition “My Band Is Better Than Your Band!”

Open to all high school students, “My Band Is Better Than Your Band” aims to help any band, hip hop artist, singer/songwriter etc, to make that first tiny step in the journey towards critical acclaim, fame, fortune, and all the pleasures that come with being a musician!

Up for grabs is a recording session in the Radio One production studio to have the winning song recorded, mixed, and mastered in a professional manner to create a recording that is of broadcast standard. The winner will also get a professional bio written, their song play-listed on Radio One, as well as being sent out to fellow b-net stations 95bfm, Radio Active, rdu, Control, and The Generator!

What now? Artists need to send Radio One a demo of their song, the song’s lyrics, and to complete an official entry form (available from Radio One, Dunedin high schools or the Radio One website, www.r1.co.nz)

It’s as easy as that!

Entries must be received no later than Friday 2nd December 2005
