Disasteradio and Emu Tomorrow Night
Tomorrow Night at 7pm;
The Film Archive presents an encore of the live music and visuals performance by electronic musicians Disasteradio and Emu
‘C:/DOS/RUN - remembering the 80’s computer’ is an exhibition currently installed at the New Zealand Film archive mediaplex in Wellington. The exhibition presents artifacts from the dawn of home computing and a collection of works by local artists still using them for creative purposes.
DISASTERADIO has been producing "electrock" since late 1999, but this is not drum ‘n bass or trance. Inspired by records such as Hot Buttered: Moog Hits 2, and Walter Carlos's "Switched On Bach" DISASTERADIO uses a collection of 80’s computers to make beats and synth tunes. DISASTERADIO’s live equipment includes Talking Lesson One, Speak & Spell, Commodore 64 and others. He will be performing to visuals from his own collection.
EMU describes his musicas 'a sonic journey on the fringes of the dub, breaks and drum'n bass planes'. EMU will be performing live music and visuals based on the classic arcade game ‘Pong’.
