Churches Make It Celebration Time this Halloween
Almost 120 churches will be holding a Light Party™ tonight according to Wendy Reid, a New Zealander and creator of the original Light Party™.
"We estimate that between 15,000 to 20,000 people will be involved in a Light Party™ Event this year." she says.
We again have four churches in one large Auckland street running a Light Party™ Event, with churches also joining in the celebration in four other countries this year.
Light Party Inc.( www.lightparty.org ), is a Christian organisation that encourages and supports churches to run a positive alternative to Halloween.
CEO, Dennis Smith advises that last year they helped almost 100 churches to run over 80 Light Party™ Events in New Zealand and this year church numbers are up by 50 percent.
He reports that many parents, are unhappy about the negative influence and practices of Halloween. More and more parents are actively looking for a positive alternative, and are relieved when their local church does provide a safe, fun place for children to bring their friends.
"Light Party™ events produce fantastic positive feedback from everyone involved, both the Light Party™ hosts and of course the attendees. Some of these testimonials can be seen on the Light Party™ website www.lightparty.org and they cover all aspects of the Light Party™ phenomena."
Light Party™ Event locations can be found at www.lightparty.org.nz
