Wellington music on tour ...
Hello,
Here is a little bit of information about Wellington band Autumn Stone who are about to undertake their second South Island tour this year. The band is unique in that it has music visualizations that are synchronised with the bands performance.
---------------------------------------------
Autumn Stone's live show should really come with an epilepsy warning. Strobing animated effects accompany moments of intense rock which are balanced by moments of beauty. Music and visuals work together to tell obscurely twisted stories.
The band are emarking on their second South Island Tour this year supported by Wellington duo "Ginger Brown". Tane McLeay (band manager) will provide an online Tour Journal of the bands progress which will be very popular. The last tour journal was viewed more than 4000 times in the week that the band were away.
Blain Hosford created an animated music video earlier in the year for the title track of the bands five track EP, Payload. Payload has been featured on music television and is one of 15 finalists in the 2005 Handle the Jandal music video awards in Wellington on Wednesday September 21.
Autumn Stone are a diverse alternative rock band with a sound which can be described in a few simple words as: beautiful, exciting and moving.
The band members share similar musical influences including Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Mogwai and Coldplay to name a few.
Acoustic and sweeping electric guitars, bizarre lyrics and raw emotion all add to the sound. With a strong emphasis on songwriting, expect to hear dynamic music with strong melody and harmony.
Accompanying Autumn Stone on this South Island Tour are Wellington duo "Ginger Brown". Ginger Brown present racy hypnotic tunes on Hammond organ and drums. Drawing their sound from carnival carousels and psychedelic rock Ginger Brown deliver a pulsating experience saturated in madness.
