KOMMIKAL'S CHRONICLES

Our free-wheeling hip hop host MC Kommikal hits the road this week to save our national treasure. In this new conservation series, Kommikal is about to join a dedicated team from DoC as part of the Kiwi Recovery Programme, transporting this special cargo from Motuara Island in the Marlborough Sounds to the Okarito Sanctuary on the West Coast.

WORLD IN WOOD

Join tohunga whakairo (master carver) Kereti Tautangata, legendary carver Fred Graham, Northland whakairo expert Wallace Hetaraka and carvers from Rotorua's Maori Arts and Crafts Institute, Roi Toia and Todd Couper as they journey to the Boom in Beeld International Wood Arts Festival held in Holland. A Flirt Media documentary that lifts the lid on the precious art of whakairo, wood-carving, and offers unrivalled insights into the art's cultural significance to indigenous peoples.
