P-Money ft Scribe’s ‘Stop The Music’ continued its successful run throughout June. Starting the month at number 7 on the Singles chart (with gold sales status) and 32 on the national Airplay chart, the song continued to pick up strong plays throughout the month, ending June as the number 11 single and 43rd most played song at radio.

Sales of Scribe’s album ‘The Crusader’ continued to feel the positive effects of ‘Stop The Music’. Entering June at 14 in the Australian Album chart, the record remained in the Top 20 throughout the month.

And on the downloading front, P-Money and Scribe were the only NZ artist to feature on the charts we monitored in June. ‘Stop The Music’ was one of the top five most downloaded videos for 3 Mobile in every week of June, the audio track itself reaching 2nd position one week, and Scribe’s ‘Not Many’ climbed up from 10th. ‘Stop The Music’ also had the dubious honour of charting at 7 on Bigpond Music’s Top 10 Australian tracks (here we go again), and also appearing on the general Bigpond Music chart, as well as ninemsn/HMV’s Top 20 during the month.

Evermore’s latest single ‘Come to Nothing’ has quickly met with radio and music TV support. The video is screening across most music television, and charted at radio as a National Airplay Breaker. In the last week of June ‘Come To Nothing’ was the 15th most added song at radio, and entered the Airplay chart at 67, while Evermore’s album ‘Dreams’ was at 27 in the Album chart, having climbed from 43 during the month. The band also continued their 30+ date tour around Australia.

‘I Got’ by Fast Crew started off June sitting at 25 on the Singles chart and 44 on the Airplay chart. The song continued to perform well on night plays, but dropped a few places on each chart throughout the month, ending June at 34th single and 52nd most played song at radio. Their next single ‘It’s The Incredible’ will be released ahead of the album (due around August). The Fast Crew are also heading back to Australia for shows around the country at the end of July.

‘All The Young Fascists’ stoked the fires of anticipation for the release of Shihad’s new album ‘Love Is The New Hate’. Picking up TV and radio plays, ‘All The Young Fascists’ held the number one spot all month on the Triple J Net 50, and sat at number 6 on the Alternative Airplay chart the week before the release of the album. ‘Love Is The New Hate’ went straight into the Album charts at number 11, but slid to 23rd and 33rd position over the following two weeks. Shihad played a couple of shows in Sydney & Melbourne ahead of their NZ dates, and are hitting the road again in August with Cog on the Homelannd Security Tour.

Dei Hamo’s video for ‘This Is My Life’ has been added to Rage and Club [V] ahead of the album’s release early July and the single mid-July.

8 Foot Sativa are preparing for the release of their latest album ‘Breed The Pain’ towards the end of July.

SJD is picking up some radio interest with ‘The Witness’.

The annual Splendour In The Grass festival takes place soon in Byron Bay. Kiwi acts appearing alongside likes of international heavyweights Queens of The Stone Age, Interpol, and Bloc Party include Shihad, Scribe, The Finn Brothers, and P-Money.

The Finn Brothers are also planning July shows in Sydney, Perth, Brisbane, & Melbourne. Their support act, who you may have heard of at some point, is Mercury Rev.
