The NZ Breeders event was established by Greyhound Racing New Zealand in 1983 to recognise and reward the success of NZ bred dogs and encourage more trainers and owners to invest in the New Zealand breeding industry.

The Wanganui club secured a grant from “The Trusts Charitable Foundation” to help spend more than $80,000 on the refurbishment of the Hatrick Raceway clubrooms as an attempt to help stage more large events in Wanganui.

The NZ Breeders Stakes race night will be held at Hatrick Raceway, Sargeant Street, Wanganui, on Friday 17 June 2005 starting at 5:30pm.
