Kia ora , A very successful NZ Music
Month has come to end but here at amplifier every month is
about NZ music so we keep trucking on pushing great local
acts. In the news this week, sadly both eight and Sommerset
have confirmed they are to split, Shihad are on tour and are
dusting off the Powerstation for a classic gig, Auckland DJs
are givin' up food for funk and finally the bNet awards
night was held last Friday, check out the winners here.

Classic Album Bressa Creeting Cake
Joel Bressa, Geoff Creeting and Edmund Cake were
Bressa Creeting Cake, they released one self titled album in
1996. Playful pop inventiveness are the descriptors for the
album's major style. Since the album was released, the
spawning of great musical careers for Edmund Cake and Geoff
Maddock in Goldenhorse, has made this album a defining point
in NZ music history.

Aron started his
career as a Jazz pianist in NZ at a young age. He won the
award for New Zealand's most outstanding Jazz Musician under
the age of 25. Aronas is the project of the New Zealand
born, award-winning musician Aron Ottignon. Dubbed as 'punk
jazz' Aronas is an explosive combination of live dance, jazz
and South Pacific-influenced grooves.

Hailing from South
Central, Onehunga, R.E.S (Red Eye Society) are the three man
crew consisting of J-One, Venomous & Tech Swift. It's no
secret that R.E.S are at the forefront of the local
underground hip hop movement with their vibrantly aggressive
