Westfield Style Pasifika Launches Fashion Award For 2005
The Westfield Style Pasifika Fashion Awards are now calling for entries for 2005.
The major Fashion Award for New Zealand, Westfield Style Pasifika has become an iconic event, which this year promises to attract a record number of designers and an unprecedented quality of work.
Entries are now being taken nationwide and will close July 15 with garments due by August 6.
New judges for the award, Chris Cherry from Workshop and Nglia Dickson an Oscar winning costume designer will be joining previous judges Liz Mitchell; Frances Hooper and Denise L’Estrange – Corbet from World and Marilyn Kohlase from Creative New Zealand, to take on the challenging task of selecting finalists and a winner.
The Auckland Town Hall will host the finalists in a fashion, music and dance spectacular on the 1st and 2nd September, with the winners announced on the final night.
Westfield New Zealand, the country’s major shopping centre owner has been sponsoring the Westfield Style Pasifika show and award since 2002.
The live show and awards are filmed for a television special and will be broadcasted primetime on TV One.
The ten categories in the Westfield Style Pasifika Fashion Award are Pasifika Body Art; Traditionally Inspired; Asia Pasifika; Pasifika Hero; Three Piece Collection; Urban Street Wear; Menswear; Evening Wear; Bridal Wear and Parent and Child.
Entry forms for the fashion award are now available through fashion design schools, the Westfield Style Pasifika website, www.stylepasifika.co.nz or by calling 09 3762103.
There are two important dates for the entries:
Confirmation of the intention to enter is due by 15 July 2005 All garments are due by 6 August 2005 Details are clearly outlined on the entry forms
