University Games Heading For an Exciting Finish
The New Zealand University Games is heading for an exciting conclusion tomorrow, Wednesday April 27, at the AUT Sports Stadium on the North Shore.
Following two days of competition most sports will hold their finals over the course of tomorrow afternoon.
“Anyone could win,” said Games Director Jim Ellis. “A number of universities are involved in tomorrow’s finals and there is no clear indication of who will win the overall Games Shield,” said Ellis.
The University Games were first held in 1902 and is the oldest inter-university competition in New Zealand.
“This has been a high quality competition this year and we expect to see some exciting finals in-front of good crowds tomorrow,” said Ellis.
Attached to this media advisory are a list of the finals that will be held on Wednesday April 27 and a spreadsheet of the results of competition to date. 5 significant finals will be played tomorrow afternoon in the AUT Stadium on Akoranga Drive.
