Multimedia Extravaganza To Open Festival

Multimedia Extravaganza To Open Festival

A live multimedia extravaganza the height of a two-storey building will open the first Southern Lakes Festival of Colour just after dark on Monday 25 April.

Pacific artist, Michel Tuffery’s Wing of the Manu will interact projected images with music, lights and sound to produce an un-missable visual illusion on the front of the Infinity Investment building that is shrouded in special white canvas for the installation.

“This is going to knock the audience’s socks off!” said festival director, Philip Tremewan. “Michel has created a spectacular piece of living art that is going to set Ardmore Street alive after dark.”

Tuffery is supported in this live performance by technical editor Kris Lane @ Subtle with music by Wellington DJ, Anton Carter who will mix it up on the turntables and lights by VJ, Mike B.

After Monday’s live performance at 6.30pm, Wing of the Manu will play every evening after dark and admission is free. At the end of the Festival it will go on to tour Australia and the Pacific Islands.
