Salford Lads’ Club Presents So, Goodbye A FINAL TRIBUTE TO The Smiths
Those shy little charmers from the Southern Hemisphere’s only Smiths Tribute Band have kept mostly to their bedrooms since their triumphant Coronation Street Tour of 2004, venturing out only for flower arranging, frightening verse writing, and cups of tea.
Disturbing rumours that the band may in fact have turned into The Smiths have been fuelled by media coverage of outbreaks of depression and wittiness in equal turns across New Zealand. Rather than risk a wholesale epidemic, or, worse still, a recurrence of Scritti Politti, the band have embraced a selection of new material and old favourites and now emerge from their bedsits for a fond farewell to you all.
What: So, Goodbye: A Final Smiths Tribute Presented by the Salford Lads’ Club The Southern Hemisphere’s only Smiths Tribute Band bid farewell to all of the people who dreamed that somebody loved them.
When and where: Saturday 30 April, Galatos, Auckland Doors 8pm Saturday 7 May, Indigo Bar and Venue, Wellington Doors 8pm
